Q: What were you doing before AdvicePeriod?

Before AdvicePeriod, I was a Senior Wealth Advisor at Wealthcare Capital Management. I had ownership of my book and focused my business on passive investments and financial planning. As I planned to take the next step in my career, I felt that I aligned well with AdvicePeriod’s values and was even operating on a similar platform. As a result, the initial transition process took less than a week.

Q: What was your motivation to look for a better home for you and your clients?

I wanted a modern experience and I saw the new technology at AdvicePeriod as a huge value-add. AdvicePeriod also places an emphasis on comprehensive planning, and I knew that would be a source of “real” value for my clients.

Q: Why did you become an advisor?

As an advisor, you play a significant role in the future opportunities, goals, and families of clients. I decided to seize the opportunity and have since been able to help friends and family achieve their dreams by creating confidence with strategic financial planning.

Q: Why not start your own firm - you have an extensive network and great clients?

My primary focus is my clients, and with the size and scale of the team at AdvicePeriod, I don’t have to worry about all of the non-client facing work. With the help of AdvicePeriod, I am able to focus on what is most important: providing my clients with unparalleled advice and planning.

Q: How does AdvicePeriod help you grow your business?

The technology at AdvicePeriod is continuously evolving and getting better, making the work of an advisor more efficient all the time. Rather than fear new technology, I embrace the fact that it gives me the ability to spend more time prospecting for new clients and growing my book of business.

Q: Describe the moment you knew joining AdvicePeriod was the right decision.

After sitting down face to face with Matt and Larry and breaking bread over dinner, I knew that AdvicePeriod was not just going to be the next stop, but a place I could see myself at for the long-term.

Q: Advice for advisors considering AdvicePeriod?

I spent countless hours making sure AdvicePeriod was the right fit. Make sure you do your due diligence regarding technology, portfolios, culture, and overall values to make sure it is the right fit for you.

Q: What was attractive about AP’s technology?

What was particularly attractive was AdvicePeriod’s centralized CRM and client planning and reporting dashboards. Personally, it was a tremendous value-add to have technology that was constantly evolving and not proprietary.
